Implementing CCTV and collecting video data for all areas can be costly and impractical, however using IoT that are triggered when there are encroachment into restricted areas are more practical – a hybrid system of sensors and CCTV can increase surveillance. As IoT devices are low powered, transmits less data and cost a fraction of CCTV equipment, more sensors can be installed over large areas or multiple outlets economically and achieve the same level of monitoring.
Snapshots of infringement are taken and routinely uploaded to reduce transmission cost. Alternatively, the object recognition can be organised at the edge to trigger decision making rather than sending or recording terabytes of data. While all these enforcement are being advocated, our solution will continue to effectively collect data trends.
Application areas include dump sites, cordoned and restricted areas.
